I hope everybody had a wonderful Mother’s Day! It’s been so lovely outside lately, it’s got me thinking all about dinner parties. One of my favourite things about finally owning a house is having a backyard, and a deck to eat on in the summer. As you know I am floral obsessed, so sitting outside with flowers everywhere and the sun warming you is essentially my daydream.
There’s something so romantic and sweet about flowers, and that’s why today’s post is all about adding some floral charm to your next dinner party, whether you have the real thing or not! Paper flowers are so trendy right now, you can find a million tutorials to teach you how to make them. Luckily for my it was my birthday yesterday, and my amazing friend bought me this perfect paper flower kit, which I used for today’s project. You can easily use the same technique with a regular tutorial though, like the one we did here.
Once you’ve made your paper flower, use a wire firm enough to stand straight up and wrap it around the back of your bud. Think of it like a stem. You’ll want something sturdy for the bottom, like a garden rock or a small boxed gift, like chocolates or mints. Be careful if you’re leaving them out in the sun though! Before you wrap the bottom of your stem around your base, punch a hole in your place card and loop the stem through it. If the stem isn’t snug in the hole, try adding some clear tape to the back.
That’s it! It takes so little time to make, but they look so sweet on your spring table!
