Get ready for holiday hostess season thanks to these party planning hacks from Fix.com!
We’re welcoming our friends from Fix.com today to share some of their super clever party planning hacks, just in time for the holiday hostess season!
With party hosting season just around the corner, take some time to plan ahead and avoid the common stresses that come with entertaining your friends and family. Start with making sure you have ample space for coats, purses and shoes.
If you are short on space, try doubling up on space by attaching a hanger to your existing ones with a soda tab.
Another crucial area to make room for your visitors is your fridge and freezer. If you are in a pinch for ice you have two options: transfer the ice that you do have into Tupperware containers and start freezing new ice, or text a friend to stop for some on the way!
Don’t forget the music! Make sure your music system, whatever it may be, is plugged in and ready to go – you don’t want to be soliciting your friends for their Spotify passwords as soon as they arrive. Sidenote to guests: don’t ask for your host’s WiFi password before you’ve even properly greeted them – serious faux pas. As a host, however, consider writing your WiFi network and password on a piece of paper and sticking it in an obvious place like the fridge door. “It’s on the fridge!” is a much easier answer than “A0Z32w3Mor56”!
Tackle your major cleaning and decluttering projects earlier in the week to alleviate any stress as the day rolls closer. If you are pressed for time, focus on the areas that you spend the least amount of time in as they are most likely to have collected some dust. Right before the guests arrive, lower the thermostat, light a candle, and take a deep breath.
Once your guests start arriving the party is a go – relax, serve a few drinks and enjoy!
