Make a Halloween costume that can transition from haunted houses to everyday using these easy outfit ideas!
With Halloween right around the corner it’s easy to settle on whatever costume is left at Party City. And from experience – that’s not a pretty sight. Unless you want to try cramming into a teen Minion costume or try one of those clearance section mashups like a zombie cheerleader or a vampire crayon (you do not) then the best thing to do in the lead up to October 31st is create a costume using items you can re-wear – as in during your regular, everyday life.
And what better costume than some of my favourite pop culture ladies (borrowing from a few very different themes)? Here’s how you can replicate these easy iconic females, using outfit pieces you can find in any mall (and wear the other 364 days a year as well!):
Perhaps the most classic Halloween costume, Audrey Hepburn a la Breakfast at Tiffany’s is popular for a reason – it’s classy, immediately recognizable, and SUPER easy to put together. Pair your favourite LBD with some black gloves, a costume cigarette holder, some costume pearls and a tiara and you’ll be the talk of the party.
Alice in Wonderland
So what do you think? All these costumes use pieces that can EASILY be reused after Halloween, so say goodbye to spending $80 on a cheap pirate costume you’ll lose in your closet by November 1st.
