This Mother’s Day add an extra touch of sweetness to your cupcakes!
With Mother’s Day around the corner, we’ve been wracking our brains trying to think of sweet and easy ways to celebrate mom without too much fuss or breaking the bank – her two favourite things. At the same time, we’ve been working on ideas for a wedding this summer, and one of those ideas has been to make sweet and feminine cupcakes. These lace cupcake wrappers were SO easy to make, and they were a perfect touch of delicacy. Today, we’re going to teach you how to make a cupcake wrapper out of a doily (I’ve always wanted to say that, like Art Attack style). They make the perfect treat for tea with your girlfriends, or dare we suggest a Mother’s Day surprise?
First, cut the centre out of your doily so that you have just the outer part, the part that looks the most like lace. One large doily should be enough for two wrappers.
It’s best if you have a cupcake to demonstrate thi on, because you’ll likely have to trim a bit to get the shape right. Carefully wrap around an undecorated cupcake so you can judge how much extra space you need.
Use clear tape or scrapbook glue (no bleed!) to secure the wrappers together.
And that’s it! Almost doesn’t even count as a tutorial, amIright?
