Spring has sprung, and that means it’s gardening season! I have previously had zero experience with gardens, because I’ve lived in an apartment for like six years, but my mom is a champion gardener. When Justin and I bought our house, one of the things I was the most excited about was getting my hands in the dirt. The previous owners had no flowers, so I got to pick everything. My mom came down on the long weekend and we spent a couple hours wandering a local greenhouse, picking out bright colours and learning about perennials vs. annuals. It was lovely.
Now that I’m getting the hang of it (I’m a very diligent waterer) I’m constantly imagining new ways to use flowers. What better way than personalized mini potted marigolds?
These little clay pots are from the dollar store – for a set of three! All you need to do are pick up a few cells of pretty spring blooms and pop them in the pots. Use a Sharpie to write your guests names (pro tip: calligraphy not your skill? Use a Cricut machine to cut a vinyl stencil!) and place them on the place settings. They make the perfect take home gift too!
The total cost for this project was less than $2 a piece – you can’t beat that! What are you waiting for? Try these little marigold place settings at your next dinner party!
