My favourite part of holiday season is all the parties – I know, shocking right? But actually there is ALWAYS something to do and somewhere to go during Christmas time, and since we Canadians have already wrapped up our Thanksgiving AND Halloween there are no holidays in the way of going full out Christmas. To Justin’s chagrin, I might add.
We have a lot of things going on in the next couple months (more on that later) so it’s going to be pretty crazy. And let’s be honest, we never have as much time to get that perfect hostess gift or put together the sweetest potluck treats. Our goal this holiday season is to come up with projects that make entertaining – and being entertained – a lot less stressful. So you can get back to eating too much shortbread cookies and stringing popcorn and watching Elf, and let us worry about the details.
Our first project is definitely the easiest of easy categories. These gift bow cupcake toppers are SO easy they don’t even need a tutorial, and they’re super inexpensive as well. Use them to add some holiday charm to your favourite cupcake recipe (or add some fun to store-bought, don’t worry – we won’t tell) on the fly! You can find small gift bows at the dollar store, and use a glue gun to adhere a toothpick to the bottom. Make sure you hold the toothpick vertical while the glue dries completely, otherwise it will want to naturally slant.
The waiting is really the hardest part – in two steps, less than $2, and 1 minute (maybe 2, being generous with your hot glue) you have these easy holiday treats.
What do you think? Will you be trying these out this holiday season?
