Make these sweet mini rose cakes for the ultimate tea party treat!
My brother bought me the sweetest tea set for my birthday, and ever since I’ve been obsessing over pretty little treats. And then, rearranging my cabinet to fit the new tea cups, my mother’s china caught my eye as the perfect accent for some rose cupcakes. And then I decided to try something new, and so was born these little mini cakes!
They really are so adorable, and VERY easy to make. It’s a sweet alternative to traditional cupcakes, in a fun personal size. Here’s how you can make your own:
First, bake a cake. Once it’s cool use a circle cookie cutter to make smaller cakes. I only had a regular cookie cutter but it would have been way better with the kind that actually is made for this purpose. Still, with a little knife help it worked out just fine. Place your halves in the fridge for a bit (about twenty minutes was best) and then crumb coat the cakes. Let those cool too.
Depending on how you prefer your cakes to look, you can add another layer to smooth it out. I liked the contrast a bit more with the rough edges.
Once you have your edges the way you like, pipe a rose on the top. For a better idea how to do this see the time we made rose cupcakes because they’re so cute. And that’s that! Aren’t they so adorable? Serve on little tea cup saucers for extra sweetness.
