Painted garden cookies and the perfect Mother’s Day printable tag!
Welcome back my lovelies, I hope your Easter was as amazing and relaxing as mine! After a weekend of family and feasting (oh but actually, THE FEASTING) we are back on track, and that means next on our plates: mother’s day.
Now I know what you’re thinking. Mother’s Day? Already? I know I know, but really I find that always sneaks up on me. This time we’re going to be prepared, and we have a couple tricks up our sleeves for flawless gifts for mom, starting with these painted garden cookies. They’re SO easy to make and even more fun to look at, plus they look adorable with our printable thank you tag!
Here’s how you can make your own!
Starting with some plain white sugar cookies (make sure the icing has had at least a couple hours to dry, with overnight being the best option!) mix a few icing dye colours with a few drops of water in small bowls. Using a paintbrush (preferably that hasn’t been used for toxic paints, you’re welcome) paint on the cookies the same as you would paper. It’s actually that easy!
You can go for a more minimalist approach (as in, I can’t draw flowers, at all) like I did or (if you have real talent) you can take the time to get a little more in depth. The best part is that since it’s a gift for mom, she’ll love it regardless of your artistic abilities! You can’t go wrong!
Package them up in clear plastic boxes because I am basically peddling them at this point. But really any container will do. If you have a Cricut then this printable is even easier, but of course you can use some fine scissors to cut out the details just as prettily!
