I love organizing my room. Not because I really like organizing, but because of the random, weird things you find deep down in the back of your closet as you pull out all those shoes you never wear. This week I decided to reorganize my room before getting back into the craziness of life. And while I was doing that I decided to organize my nail polish collection. If you haven’t checked it out yet, last week I made (aka bought and painted) this awesome nail polish rack. Not everything that I have for my nail polishes fit in the rack, like my nail stamp for example. While I was organizing my stuff I happened to come across this set of nail stamp art that my mom had gotten me for Christmas a year ago. I had never used it before so I figured why not try it out this week for the Mani Monday post!
So here’s a little starry night nail art for you this week courtesy of this handy nail stamp kit. Start with a base colour of your choice, I did a deep blue from Essie. First you begin by picking your design from one of the disks, and once that is done cover the design with your nail polish of choice.
Next grab your scraper and swiftly scrape the excess nail polish from the design.
Press the stamper firmly on the plate to transfer the nail polish onto the stamp. Once this is done quickly press the stamper on the nail, making sure to swivel the stamper from side to side to ensure the entire design gets placed on the nail.
And that is it! Isn’t that simple!! I chose to the moon with the stars on my middle finger, and the full star design on the big thumb. I really like how some of the designs are for the entire nail. Next time I might be trying the zebra print!
There you have it! I found it so quick, but you have to practice a couple of times on a piece of paper before doing it on your nail. The first time I did it I hand’t scraped all of the nail polish from the plate and some was transferred to the nail. But once you’ve mastered it, this is one of the easiest and quickest ways to create unique nail designs without the stress of having to draw it yourself.
