It is officially the last monday of 2014, it’s crazy how fast December has gone by!
This week I have a sparkly new years eve nail design for you girls. I did a different look for each nail to add some variety but you choose to do just one design on all nails or mix and match as you please.
I chose two colours for this nail design, a shimmery navy blue and confetti styled gold sparkles. I love the look of blue and gold together, I think it’s a super classy look that is perfect for a night out this new years!
First begin by painting your base colour, in this case the blue. Wait at least a half an hour until you begin doing the rest of the designs, you don’t want the tape to stick to the yet nail polish and ruin it.
I decided to start by painting the ring finger completely with the sparkles.
Next I moved on to the middle finger. For this one I wanted to do a triangle design, I saw this somewhere and it reminded me of a Christmas tree so I just had to do it! This design is super simple, begin by creating a triangle with two pieces of tape. Next fill in the triangle with the sparkles. TIP: make sure to dot the sparkles on, not brush them, it’ll give you more coverage with these loose type of sparkles. Finally remove the tape!
The next design I wanted to try was a sparkly french nail, similar to the holiday french nail design from a couple of weeks ago. This one is super easy too. Begin by placing the tape just above the tip of the nail. Next dot on your sparkles and immediately remove the tape. When I removed mine a couple of the sparkles came off with it so I carefully covered over them with the gold sparkles.
Finally I did a reverse triangle design on the thumb. This is the same technique as the one for the middle finger, just on the nail bed and reversed.
I left my index finger empty but you can choose to repeat of the designs above or do something else. Finish with a top coat and you are done!
I’m loving my mixed and matched sparkly nails to ring in the new year, what do you girls think?
