Check out this spider food pick DIY from the Halloween Party Box, perfect for your weekend party!
One of my favourite little details from the Adult Halloween Party Box were the
ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING adorable little spider food picks we made. Food picks are like the most undervalued part of party planning in my opinion, because they’re such an easy thing to customize and make super cute for your party theme, AND people always appreciate them. You never realize how much easier your life is with food picks until you make mini sliders or have a fruit tray and run out of forks.
You could use this same tutorial for pretty much anything, like drinker stirrers or cupcake toppers, but since we wanted to make entertaining for a group a little easier we decided to show case them this way. We even made those “spider eggs” (they’re Timbits with powdered sugar hahahaha so gross) to make them even more theme appropriate. If you’re having a Halloween party this weekend and want an easy way to make your table a little more festive, check out this diy!
- a glue gun
- black paint
- spider rings (from the dollar store!)
- toothpicks (or skewers for drink stirrers)
Push the toothpick and spider together. Hold it together until the glue solidifies. It’s boring but you want the pick to be straight and that’s the best way. Once it’s completely dry, you can paint the toothpick black. If you aren’t using a food safe paint and are concerned about that, leave the lower portion unpainted (the part that will be hidden in the food).
And that’s it! Easy, amIright? It’s a great project for last minute, and it looks amazing on the Halloween table!
