We’re back with a little recap from our adventures in America!
So as some of you may know, we got back Sunday from a crazy trip that was amazing and exhausting and impossible and eye opening and life changing and brutal and emotional and beautiful and you can’t experience all that in 10 days without being a little exhausted. We may not be back to manis and glue guns yet, but we wanted to share some of the photos we took on our trip!
As a backstory, we got accepted to attend The Special Event 2015 conference with some other members of our event planning program at George Brown College in Toronto. We got to hit up all the sessions, meet some incredible people, see some EXTRAORDINARY galleries and ideas, and even work some behind the scenes at the events. Eventually I’d like to gather up some shots from TSE to share with you guys because there are some really pretty party-planner details you guys would love, but for now consider this the extra-curricular version of our trip.
We started in Vegas, because I optimistically decided Las Vegas and Los Angeles were essentially the same place and why not just make it an adventure of a lifetime with a road trip in the middle? We explored every casino I could drag the group into, bought cupcakes out of an ATM – I’m stopping here for proof:
– hunted down flamingos, shopped some desert outlets, saw a show and ate celebrity burgers. By Sunday we were exhausted. Cue: road trip. We drove from Vegas to Anaheim for the TSE 2015 conference with one of us exhausted, one of us emotional, and one of us hungover. It was hauntingly beautiful and I can’t say enough how incredible it was. The sun set and there were mountains and it was just ridic.
Isn’t that just crazy? I’d never seen mountains before (unless you count highlands, which I do not because you shouldn’t, they aren’t the same) so going through this canyon and seeing crazy snow capped mountain things was amazing.
I wish there was a way to embed the OC playlist while you read this because it was pretty much playing nonstop in my head while we were in Anaheim. Obligatory beach shelter shot:
But actually though Toronto got hit with BRUTALLY cold temperatures while we were away. And this is what we were doing:
I’m the worst friend in the world. Please ignore my horribly two-tone acid washed jeans. The rest of the beach did.
We finished off our adventure with the most incredible show of life called Baz Live. If you live in the LA area (or even California, I dismiss travel time) you HAVE to check it out. It’s playing at For The Record and it was actually crazy. We had the best time. I don’t think I can sum up why you should go so here is a video to convince you. I’ll wait.
Insane right. You’re welcome.
So needless to say we are SO TIRED and back to class and trying to get back into the groove after a month (!) off, so don’t hate us if we miss things here and there. Rest assured we have so much we’re dying to share, you won’t regret it. Until next time!
