We’re getting fruity with this super sweet nail design!
Remember that time last week I told you I was going to be doing versions of a classic french manicure for our Mani Monday? Yea let’s forget about that for now, because we’ve got more important manicures to worry about. Like this amazingly cute pineapple design!! Um can you say love it!
Now I can’t take credit for coming up with this design, it’s actually a copy of our May calendar designed by Ashley. If you haven’t downloaded it yet you should do it now (click here), the pineapples are waiting 🙂
This is an incredibly cute design and now has inspired me to do a whole month of fruit designs. No worries, I will definitely stick to this plan, cause what’s cuter than fruit on your nails! Especially for summer! So follow along with our tutorial below to see how we recreated this design.
I started with a see-through white nail polish colour because I’m actually loving this colour right now but you can do whatever you want for your base colour.
Next grab your brightest yellow nail polish and create the body of the pineapple. As you can see my yellow is a little clear, so I’d recommend trying to find one that is more opaque so the design shows more but I had nothing else so this had to do.
Next your going to draw the leaves. There’s no need to be super precise as we’ll be doing the outline for these later on, which will give them a more defined look.
Continue doing that with the rest of the nails and finish it off by outlining the body and leaves of the pineapple with a black nail polish. The original design is messy so there’s no need to be perfect, and that’s the beauty of this nail art!!
Once that’s done finish off with a top coat to make the polish pop and shine!!
