Make your party extra fun with these DIY conversation-starter stir sticks!
I want to start today’s post with a deep, personal memory.
That’s right, my name is Ashley and I have a Mean Girls problem. Actually though, my teen years were spent sending my brother endless texts of “shut up, srsly” and “lol, but srsly” and “omg, srsly” which drove him insane, but to this day makes me LOL (I had to). And it all stemmed from watching Mean Girls and deciding Regina George was my favourite person ever.
So when I stumbled on these crazy cute hot pink acrylic letters at Michaels (for a whopping $2 I might add) I immediately thought – “shut up, srsly, I can make the best sayings of life with those”. One second, I’m imagining Brad losing his shit over that sentence.
ANYWAYS, but what can you make with random hot pink acrylic letters you may ask? Well, how about the MOST FUN PARTY OF LIFE, because I present to you, “say it with stir sticks”, where you make a bunch of hilarious sayings and then make them into the best stir sticks of life and whenever you hand people a cocktail they full out laugh out loud (HA).
Or you want to make conversation-starting stir sticks? Okay. Got you covered.
In terms of materials, this is a pretty laid back DIY. If you can find these acrylic letters from Michaels then you’re golden, but even if not you can always find wooden ones and paint them.
I painted my skewers so it wouldn’t be all woody, and added glitter for no real reason except it was adorable. Whenever you’re using glitter in something that goes near food I recommend giving it a spray with some sealant, just to spare yourself some glittery sips down the road.
Use a TINY amount of glue to attach your letters together, and then find the centre point/strongest line and be a bit more liberal glue-wise, adhering your “stick” to the back of the letters.
Of course, now you just have to add in your favourite cocktails and send out the invites.
