Make these pretty succulent favours with our free printable gift tag!
I spend an inordinate amount of time dreaming up party favours. They really are my absolute favourite part of entertaining, because it’s a fun way to thank your guests for coming in a unique and memorable way they get to take home. It’s like good manners AND showing off a bit. I think every party can be classified that way – at least a little! Plus favours give me an excuse to get craft with my party themes, so there’s that as well.
We’ve been having discussions about another taco party so my head has been full of ideas using cactus (to Fernanda’s extreme horror I might add) and while I was
poking around a nursery on the weekend researching I stumbled upon the most adorable succulents ever. They were the perfect size for a tea cup (is how I described them to Justin in my “this is why we need to own these” speech) and that meant a new favour idea was born. Add in the sweet little printable gift tag we made and you have the perfect take-home goodies for your next party, regardless of theme. Succulents are versatile that way.
To make your own succulent favours you need some vintage teacups (a dime a dozen at a thrift store near you!) medium sized succulents, and our free printable.
First, gently dig your fingers into the succulent pot and wiggle carefully to loosen up the roots. Transplant your succulent into your teacup. Depending on how it was packed you may need to loosen up more soil to fill in the spaces around your succulent. My teacup fit perfectly in the cupcake casing for my clear boxes that I’m so obsessed with, and they looked adorable packaged that way. Feel free to pick your own style, or even leave them unwrapped on pretty saucers.
They really do look so sweet, and they’d double as charming place cards too!
