As most of you know we were MIA last week because we spent
every waking minute some time getting products ready for the Trinity Bellwoods Flea over the weekend. It was our first time EVER bringing the Party Girl out into the real world and it was terrifying and exhausting and crazy fun. We met so many amazing and talented people and learned a lot about what it takes to share our products with real people, which is an opportunity we obviously couldn’t have passed up.
We also got to learn first hand how hard it is to design a booth, how last minute changes can happen and you need to be prepared for anything, and how bribing your boyfriends to help you load in should be one of your top priorities. Luckily, our party planning backgrounds helped with a lot of those preparation hiccups. We were military-style ready to set up. We had things organized and game plans and “plan b” plans lined up. We had a “park the car and carry things in this order” plan. We had drills. Okay, we maybe did not have drills but everything else is completely true. We were machines.
We knew we wanted some fun table elements to catch the eye because a) we have a reputation for being over the top and even our first time out felt we should reflect our brand image and b) I just really wanted apple crates. So there was a lot of night before spray painting and apple crate painting in the dark and packaging until 3am and re-stapling because there was a small mix up involving giving a guy a stapler, but we were SO happy with how everything turned out.
Because we love y’all we wanted to share some of the photos we got from Saturday, AND give you a behind the scenes on the new products we introduced at the market! You lucky ducks you.
We added a bunch of new greeting card designs to the PG Shop because you can’t celebrate without paper. It’s like the secret ingredient, but not a secret. We like to think we specialize in sweet details and pretty eye-catchers. Let’s say you think that too <3
Fernanda’s favourite thing is actually our BIG ANNOUNCEMENT we’ve been promising – we debuted the brand new MINI Party Box! Think of the Mini Box as the answer to those smaller parties that need a little less custom details but still delivers the same sweet, perfectly planned Pinterest pictures. We started with four new themes: an engagement party, two baby showers (one blue & one pink) and a sassy birthday box. And there’s more to come!
- 6 custom plastic cups
- 6 custom label confetti poppers
- 12 cupcake wrappers
- 12 cupcake toppers
- 1 glitter banner
- 3 confetti filled balloons
- 12 coloured paper straws
Of course we’re also offering custom Mini Boxes, just like the regular edition – so if you have a theme you’d like to build or want to request a la carte options, that’s completely okay!
