Get out your day planners (and ditch that calorie-counting app) because we have a weekender sure to please your inner foodie!
Consider your diet blown and this weekend your cheat day because we have a foodie-favourite weekender today and it’s sure to make you drool a little bit. Don’t worry. We won’t judge.
There are a lot of seriously insane food events happening this weekend, and since everybody else is going to be going to that sports thing I don’t even want to talk about, you can skip the crowds (more famous cheesecake from Uncle Tetsu for you, amIright?) and join us in the city.
Here’s what’s going on in Toronto this weekend:
Front Street Foods
Think of Front St. Foods as the pop up market your stomach will love you for. Pegged as a “wide-ranging culinary market” and presented by Toronto Market Co. Front Street Foods is bringing the best in TO’s chefs, restaurants, bakers, and foodies to the street – Front Street that is. Setting up outside of Union Station every day ALL SUMMER starting this week, it’s full of all start vendors like Little Fin, Holy Chuck Burger, Greenhouse Juice Co. and more! Get all the details at their website here.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Summerlicious is back in the city! We are big fans of Summerlicious. Mainly because we’re too poor to check out these places normally, but also because we go out way more often. We’ve already checked out our first restaurant of the season, and have a few more lined up. If you’ve never heard of it, Summerlicious is a time when all the Toronto hotspots put out special menus at affordable prices, and you can dress up and head out and check out all those places you’ve been too intimidated to get a reservation at. You’re welcome. Check out the participating restaurants here.
Junction Night Market
The Junction Night Market combines all the fun and community feel of the farmers market with the extra bonus of a night out on the town. Enjoy local food, craft beer, cider & wine Saturday 7:00 – 11:00 pm at Pacific Avenue. The best part – all proceeds go to help member of the community access fresh and healthy food through local program. Last year the event raised almost $9000. Check out the vendors participating and stay up to date with the market community on their website here.
Because I’m sure you’ll be full by Sunday, here’s a chance to walk off some of those meals. The Gladstone Flea is like a curated pop op, featuring the kind of unique gems you’d except to find at the Gladstone Hotel. In their own words, “the Gladstone Hotel teams up with notable fashion and lifestyle aficionados to jury an organized, handpicked, marketplace. Packed with purpose, artist goods, reclaimed vintage, craft, design, jewelry, clothing, and more.” Check it out Sunday 10-4pm and learn more here.
Have an amazing weekend!
