Grab your day planner, we’ve got your weekend all planned out!
Since we got to play with Hands and Hustle yesterday we’re giving you the weekender today, minus the alliteration. Don’t worry, it’s still full of some big name Toronto events happening this weekend!
Toronto Bridal Show
This may not appeal to you if you aren’t planning a wedding, BUT as event lovers we hit up all the wedding trade shows and even if you’re just in the industry it’s worth checking out. There’s always really interesting guest speakers and swag EVERYWHERE, plus free samples and discounts. It’s also a great way to keep up to date with trends, which is always important for bloggers! Get more details on their website here.
Scotiabank Nuit Blanche
Saturday is the annual all night art explosion downtown, so if you feel like getting out this weekend, wandering around the city streets popping into the new venues for 2014, make a date for the weekend! There’s always a ton of interactive exhibits and show stopping installations on every corner, so it’s a fun night out even if you aren’t super artsy. Get more details on their website.
In a completely different theme, it’s time for Oktoberfest! I would argue this is the best part of October. Or like, highly ranked. Get your general admission tickets or a table of 10 for this weekend and sample some delicious snacks and watch them tap the keg on those European and German biers. Also new this year there’s a 30,000 sqft. Biergarten, so basically you need to be there. If you need more info (pretend I didn’t have you at Biergarten) you can get it at their website.
You know we’re always down for post-brunch shopping, so leave it to us to track down all the fleas in the city over the weekends. This Saturday the place to be is Parkdale Flea, where theres antique, vintage, collectables, designer finds, goodies from local artisans, crafts, food and drink, and more. The best part is that it’s free! Info here.
501 Streetcar Food Tour
I have a love hate relationship with the 501 streetcar, but when it’s a lazy Sunday wandering from restaurant to restaurant, I can get behind that kind of event. The 501 Streetcar Food Tour is basically a guided tour of Queen Street’s unique foodie favourites, so if you like food and don’t mind spending your afternoon on a streetcar ON PURPOSE, get tickets here.
