*TickPick reached out to me to write a post and tell y’all about their site, and they made me this shiny poster I’m going to show you, but all bands and party plans are mine – so no judging 😉
Can you believe summer is around the corner? The sun is out and the temperature is heating up, and that means the highlight of the season is coming – music festivals. Being Canadian, it can be hard to find the perfect line up at a local festival, and even harder to get tickets – there’s always a ton of extra fees. Processing fees, fees because you are buying a ticket online, like three taxes, fees because you pick up your tickets, fees because you want to print them (why though?). TickPick is kind of like the answer to that – tickets for all your fave things, like concerts or hockey games, in one place, at prices that won’t have you eating ramen for the rest of the summer. You get to buy great tickets from real people, and there aren’t any weird fees.
Full disclosure, I am a terrible musical festival goer. As much as I love music, I cannot stand camping, and therefore miss out on a lot of the festivals that come around these parts. So when TickPick reached out to me about coming up with my dream music festival, I was all about it. And since we are a party blog, why not share how you could throw your own mini festival at home? All you need are some perfectly themed party goods, a sound system, and some friends to lounge away a summer afternoon. And the best part – no waking up in a muddy tent clutching a milk carton you’ve never seen before. #beenthere
Here’s your top five list of things you need to throw a “Faux-Chella” party:
1. Floor cushions. Having your own music festivals themed party in your backyard means you don’t have to worry about where you sit. Why not do it in style with pretty floor cushions, like these ones? 2. Frozen watermelon pops. Nothing screams summer like watermelon slices – and you can enjoy them with an added dose of fresh thanks to these sweet frozen pops. 3. Naked cake. With airy cake and clouds of icing and topped with pretty florals, naked cakes are like edible summer. 4. Paper lanterns. Add some boho atmosphere and keep the party going after sunset with pretty stringed paper lanterns. 5. Sangria bar. The other benefit of having your own festival – no ban on alcohol. No need to find ways to fit your moonshine into hollowed out loafs of bread (oh, to be young again), you can have your own set up with flare in the form of a sangria bar. Add you favourite toppings and mix and some pretty cups and you’ll be ready to party.
And obviously no party is complete without the perfect summer playlist, inspired by my dream music festival lineup – showcased in this adorable poster c/o Tick Pick.
