You may remember (because it was like a week ago) that I bought some macarons from Loblaws (due to some past experiences that still haunt me) and made adorable, kid friendly and super dorky turkey macaron Thanksgiving treats. WELL, since that project was so easy I knew repurposing macarons from the grocery store was my calling.
Today we’re mixing it up Halloween style with these jack o’ lantern macarons and our printable treat boxes, perfect for setting up on the dessert table at your Halloween parties, using as place cards at dinner, or wrapping up and gifting to friends.
All you need are orange macarons (from the grocery store, or a bakery, or make them if you’re feeling accomplished), wooden skewers, a black edible marker (I like this one from Americolor) and our printable boxes.
First, paint your skewers black. Make sure you don’t paint the whole thing black, so that you have some food-safe space to gently press into the filling of your macaron. Use your marker to draw jack o’ lanterns on the macarons; think of it as pumpkin carving for the civilized. And that’s it! They turned out super cute, and really easy!
