These cupcakes are the perfect sweet treat for a winter housewarming party!
Contrary to the age old mantra “never move in the winter”, I always find myself attending a LOT of housewarming parties around this time. With holiday parties behind us people settle back into their new homes and want to celebrate. Today’s post is perfect, whether you’re hosting or attending a housewarming party! These gingerbread house cupcakes are SUPER easy to make (especially thanks to our DIY hack that will save you a ton of time) and are a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
If you have the time, you can use a regular gingerbread recipe and some small cookie cutters to DIY these toppers yourself – try using a paintbrush and crushed candy to decorate, to accommodate the smaller scale. But let’s be real, ‘aint nobody got time for that in January, and we’ve got your back. You can find these mini gingerbread mug toppers at Anthropologie, or similar versions online. They’re super affordable but equally adorable, and they look handmade – which means you can shamelessly reap the rewards of a five minute store bought cupcake/gingerbread house combo.
Not going to a housewarming? These cupcakes are so sweet you could easily use them for any winter party, or even a Valentine’s Day treat!
